Job summary

Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Iowa is seeking a part-time employee to perform light housekeeping, laundry, organizing and downsizing, and assist with meal preparation and grocery shopping.

The role requires independence, the ability to relate to residents and families, flexible hours, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Fluency in English and reliable attendance are essential; on-site weekday schedule from 8:30am to 2:45pm.

Qualifications

• Must be able to think, act and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations.
• Must be self-motivated and function as an “in-charge person”.
• Must be able to relate to clients, staff and client’s families in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping includes laundry, light housekeeping, organizing and downsizing, recycling and changing of linens.
• Meal preparation includes meal prep and grocery shopping.
