Housekeeper

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

The housekeeper is responsible for daily cleaning of floors in corridors and other assigned areas, as well as project cleaning of walls, lights, windows, and other surfaces following established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas according to schedules and prescribed methods.
2. Use knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals to shampoo carpets, buff floors, vacuum carpets, and extract carpets.
3. Collect trash from utility rooms and other points, transport to the compactor area, and clean trash cans with relining as needed. Properly handle bio-hazardous waste.
4. Maintain floors, baseboards, and carpets through dust mopping, polishing, vacuuming, damp buffing, shampooing, and extraction.
5. Check equipment daily and arrange repairs when necessary.
6. Assist in cleaning emergency spills as observed or upon request.
7. Report repairs needed for equipment, furnishings, buildings, and fixtures.
8. Perform duties of a Housekeeper I if required.
9. Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; complete educational requirements annually; participate in quality improvement initiatives.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

No specific education required; any combination of formal education and/or work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job is acceptable. A high school diploma or GED may be preferred.

Minimum Experience:

At least six (6) months of professional housekeeping experience.
