Job summary

DuPage County is hiring a Housekeeper II for the Kenneth Moy DuPage Care Center. The role involves cleaning responsibilities, floor care, carpet shampooing, linen duties, and assisting residents with daily needs. Hours include rotating shifts and weekends; benefits are provided.

The position requires a valid Illinois driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of the Housekeeper II in-service within 90 days of hire. A pre-employment physical and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of the Housekeeper II in-service program within the first 90 days of hire.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Strip and wax floors using a self-propelled stripping and waxing machine.
• Shampoo carpets with an automated carpet shampooer.
• Sweep, mop, dust, remove trash and recycling to the dumpster; operate the trash compactor.
• Interact with residents; assist with moving and serving trays.
• Make beds; change linens; clean under beds; maintain clean linen and utility areas.
• Fill oxygen canisters and distribute oxygen to nursing units.
• Transport residents using a van with a lift gate.
• Exterior snow removal at Care Center entrances using a shovel and deicing salt.
• Move boxes/ pallets; set up and break down rooms.

Salary: $34,611.20 – $38,937.60 Annually

Hours: 7:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. or 3 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. to include every other weekend and holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Shampoos carpet utilizing an automated, self-propelled carpet shampooer
• Sweeps, mops, dusts, collects and removes trash bags and recycling bins to bring to the dumpster and compactor, and operates the trash compactor
• Interacts with residents, and assists with moving them and serving their trays
• Makes beds, changes linens, cleans under beds, empties dirty utility and linen carts, keeps linen and utility areas clean
• Fills oxygen canisters and distributes oxygen to nursing units
• Performs resident transportation services utilizing a van with a lift gate
• Performs exterior snow removalat Care Center entrances and patios using a shovel and applying deicing salt
• Moves boxes and shipping pallets to storage rooms and moves carts of chairs, loads/unloads carts of chairs and arranges chairs to set up and break down rooms

Requirements

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:

• Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• Completion of the Housekeeper II in-service program within the first 90 days of hire
• Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois Driver’s License
