Job summary

Covenant Health's Fort Sanders West in Knoxville is seeking a part-time Housekeeper to clean and sanitize rooms and furnishings across the hospital and related facilities. Responsibilities include stocking restroom supplies and maintaining high cleanliness standards per established policies and schedules.

The role involves following safety guidelines, assisting with spills, inspecting equipment, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
• Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.
• Performs daily check of assigned equipment for cleanliness and proper repair.
• Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furnishings, buildings and fixtures.
• Removes waste and soiled linens from work area. Places in specified containers or bags. Demonstrates proper handling of biohazardous wastes.
• Monitors levels of supplies and equipment. Notifies supervisor of need for additional supplies.
• Performs personal inspection of all tasks performed/areas assigned.

Also responsible for stocking supplies in restrooms, appropriate hospital and related building rooms.
