Job Purpose

Provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and the public. Housekeeping services are provided in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and comply with state and federal laws and regulations to enhance residents' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors. May occasionally spray buff, strip, or wax floors following center procedures, including the use of wet floor signs.
• Vacuums carpeted rooms as applicable.
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior and interior, and replaces with a clean liner.
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets following center procedures.
• Cleans glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings.
• Follows infection control standards during cleaning.
• Prevents/removes wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, and in doorways.
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed.
• Removes and re-hangs curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder.
• Damps and dusts surfaces in resident rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following center procedures, including wet floor signs.
• Moves furniture to clean behind and underneath, according to procedures.
• Turns bed mattresses after cleaning.

Minimum Experience Required

None; on-the-job training is provided.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services is also preferred.
