We are looking to add a Full-Time Housekeeper for the 3rd Shift at one of our accounts in New Castle, IN.

Summary/Objective:

Provides daily housekeeping services to the patients/residents to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment in accordance with laws, regulations, and facility guidelines.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides daily housekeeping duties as assigned per Standard Operating Procedures.
2. Closely follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
3. Cleans floors, including dust mopping, wet mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
4. Cleans furnishings that are both moveable and stationary throughout the facility.
5. Cleans fixtures including restrooms, light fixtures, water fountains, etc.
6. Dusts and disinfects horizontal surfaces throughout the facility.
7. Removes trash and cleans/disinfects waste containers.
8. Cleans and disinfects restrooms in both resident rooms and public spaces throughout the facility.
9. Cleans public spaces throughout the facility including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, lobby, etc.
10. Cleans equipment and work areas as assigned by the Manager.
11. Maintains knowledge of Federal, State, and facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
12. Attends in-service educational programs.
13. Follows defined safety codes while performing all duties.
14. Understands facility’s fire and disaster plans; follows established procedures during drills and emergencies.
15. Performs other department duties as assigned by the Housekeeping/EVS or designee.

Work Environment:

This position requires lifting up to forty pounds (40 lbs). The work involves moving throughout the facility, including resident rooms; bending, lifting, sitting, standing, and moving frequently; dealing with interruptions and possibly upset residents and family members; working scheduled shifts with possible weekends, holidays, and other hours based on resident needs; participating in continuing education; and exposure to odors, falls, burns, infectious diseases, waste, blood, and body fluids.

Physical Demands:

Stands and walks continuously; reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and works with supplies and equipment; works with chemicals and cleaning agents; must be free from infection or diseases; able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is an hourly position, with hours including days, evenings, some weekends, and holidays.

Shift: 10 pm - 6 am

Required Education and Experience:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum one year of housekeeping experience in healthcare preferred but not required; general knowledge of cleaning and infection prevention is necessary
