Job summary

Artis Senior Living of Reading is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a full-time role with a Sunday–Thursday 7:00am–3:00pm schedule. Starting pay is $19 per hour, and the team supports residents with dementia by maintaining clean, safe spaces and excellent service.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident apartments and common areas, laundry duties, stocking supplies, and adhering to safety procedures. Prior housekeeping experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-year housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash and fold laundry. Distribute clean linens and towels.
• Maintain a stocked cleaning cart with necessary supplies and communicate inventory needs to supervisor.
• Dispose of trash, chemicals, and other materials in a safe manner.
• Understand proper use of community equipment.
• Demonstrate respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident.
• Maintain honesty and integrity in the care and use of resident and community property.
• Communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Perform other duties as needed as directed by supervisor.

How You'll Contribute

At Artis Senior Living, we’re honored to serve families in our vibrant and welcoming communities, and we’re looking for a Housekeeper ready to work with heart.

The Housekeeper is responsible for keeping all areas of the community clean, sanitized, and safe for residents, guests, and team members, at all times. Excellent customer service and a willingness to work with the elderly population are essential for this role.

The Housekeeper will:

• Clean resident apartments and common areas daily according to facility procedures, including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning/sanitizing common areas.
• Wash and fold laundry. Distribute clean linens and towels. Maintain a stocked cleaning cart with necessary supplies.
• Communicate inventory and supply needs to the Director of Environmental Services in a timely manner.
• Dispose of trash, chemicals, and other materials in a safe manner.
• Understand proper use of community equipment.
• Demonstrate respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
• Always demonstrate honesty and integrity in the care and use of resident and community property.
• Effectively communicate with the staff members and residents through verbal and/or written means.
• Perform other duties as needed that may be set by the Director of Environmental Services.

How You'll Succeed

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-year previous housekeeping experience preferred.
