Job summary

Artis Senior Living of Wilmette is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to keep resident apartments and common areas clean and safe. The role supports residents and staff with high-quality cleaning, laundry duties, and timely supply management.

A high school diploma is required, and prior housekeeping experience is preferred. A Sunday-Thursday shift with occasional weekends/holidays is offered, with comprehensive benefits provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident apartments and common areas daily according to facility procedures.
• Wash and fold laundry; distribute clean linens.

• Communicate with residents and staff respectfully and professionally.

*Starting pay is $18 / hour!

ONE FULL-TIME opening, offering a Sunday-Thursday 11am-7:30pm shift! Some weekends or holidays required if needed.

How You'll Contribute

At Artis Senior Living, we’re honored to serve families in our vibrant and welcoming communities, and we’re looking for a Housekeeper ready to work with heart.

The Housekeeper is responsible for keeping all areas of the community clean, sanitized, and safe for residents, guests, and team members, at all times. Excellent customer service and a willingness to work with the elderly population are essential for this role.

• Clean resident apartments and common areas daily according to facility procedures, including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning/sanitizing common areas.
• Wash and fold laundry. Distribute clean linens and towels. Maintain a stocked cleaning cart with necessary supplies.
• Communicate inventory and supply needs to the Director of Environmental Services in a timely manner.
• Dispose of trash, chemicals, and other materials in a safe manner.
• Understand proper use of community equipment.
• Demonstrate respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
• Always demonstrate honesty and integrity in the care and use of resident and community property.
• Effectively communicate with the staff members and residents through verbal and/or written means.
• Perform other duties as needed that may be set by the Director of Environmental Services.

How You'll Succeed

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-year previous housekeeping experience preferred.
