Buckner Retirement Services seeks a dedicated Housekeeper in Houston, TX, onsite to maintain clean and sanitary conditions across resident homes, common areas, dining rooms, and other locations. You will ensure Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards and contribute to a supportive living environment for residents.

Ideal candidates will have English proficiency, customer-service orientation, and the physical stamina to move cleaning equipment and handle routine housekeeping tasks

Qualifications

• Requires in-depth understanding of housekeeping operations; prior-related experience preferred.
• Requires basic knowledge of house cleaning devices and sanitation standards.
• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility; lifts up to 100 pounds occasionally.

• Perform duties in a courteous manner and maintain customer service excellence.
• Clean and service rooms, baths, offices; dust and polish surfaces; replenish supplies.
• Clean floors, vacuum carpets; treat areas as required.
• Prepare and mix cleaning solutions per guidelines.
• Move furniture safely and assist other departments as needed.
• Keep storage rooms organized and report equipment issues.
• Follow Buckner 5STARS customer service standards and respond to requests.

Job Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a Housekeeper to join our community committed to maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas, such as resident homes, common areas, dining room and other locations in the community. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in all phases of housekeeping that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Perform all duties in a courteous manner and maintain excellence in customer service including but not limited to cheerfully greeting residents and visitors and exercising respect with co-workers.
• Clean and service rooms, baths, and offices; dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, window sills, light globes; empty trash baskets and remove trash; clean and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenish supplies of soap and towels; clean and polish brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling; check and fill all dispensers – hand soap, paper.
• Clean, mop, and treat floors. Vacuum all carpet.
• Mix/dilute housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions.
• Move furniture as needed in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist other departments with cleaning and other housekeeping assignments.
• Keep utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floors. Organize and maintain linen closets in a safe and orderly condition at all times.
• Report issues of department equipment when it is not in good working condition in accordance with manufacturer’s operational standards.
• Follow the Buckner 5STARS of customer service and timely respond to requests for assistance or information.

What you’ll bring:

• Requires in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations; prior-related experience preferred.
• Requires basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements.
• Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English; ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions given in English.
• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility daily.
• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility, using up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
• Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time; turns, stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches, and pushes, pulls, handles, stands, walks over 75% of shift.
