Job summary

Porter Hills is seeking a Housekeeper (full-time) in Grand Rapids, MI, to maintain clean, safe spaces in our health center. You will ensure a welcoming environment for residents and work as part of the EVS team.

The position offers a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm with rotating weekends and one holiday per year; weekend shifts include a premium. Training and full benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience as a housekeeper in a long-term care facility or medical environment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess knowledge of communicating with individuals of all ages.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and decorative items.
• Vacuum and mop floors, carpets, and rugs.
• Cleans residents’ rooms, recreational areas, offices, and hallways as assigned.
• Change bed linens and make beds according to established standards.
• Empty trash containers and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces, appliances, and utensils.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
• Organize and maintain storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to established cleaning schedules and procedures.
