Job summary

The Bradford at Brookside in Livingston, TX is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to perform scheduled cleaning tasks under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.

The role includes mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window washing, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Prior institutional housekeeping experience is helpful; English literacy is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful.
• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per protocol.
• Uses chemicals properly; mop floors as directed.
• Empties trash, replaces liners, disposes properly.
• Vacuums carpets as directed.
• Washes and dries windows using proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance.
• Requests needed supplies from Supervisor.
• Identifies safety hazards and follows safety rules.
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensures patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Housekeeping Assistant position is to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

• Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful.


• Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.


• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Essential Functions

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis and in accordance with Facility protocols.


• Uses proper chemicals in proper portions. May dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors.


• Empties trash containers, replaces liners as appropriate and disposes of trash in proper receptacles.


• Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.


• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows.


• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.


• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.


• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.


• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.


• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.


• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.


• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
