Job summary

The Crescent - Sugar Land, part of Cantex Continuing Care Network, seeks a Housekeeping Assistant to perform scheduled cleaning in patient rooms, bathrooms and common areas following facility protocols.

The role involves mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, handling chemicals safely, and reporting repairs while supporting a compassionate care environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance.
• Experience using floor-care equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily in accordance with facility protocols.
• Uses proper chemicals in proper portions for cleaning (mop, wash, spot-mop).
• Empties trash, replaces liners, and disposes of trash properly.
• Vacuum carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Washes and dries windows using appropriate chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and follows safety rules.
• Adheres to Abuse Prevention policy and participates in safety training.
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Housekeeping Assistant position is to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.


• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.


• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.


• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
