Job summary

Salemtowne in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to maintain clean cottages, apartments, rooms and common areas by performing routine cleaning and adhering to safety standards. You will vacuum, dust, mop, sanitize bathrooms, restock supplies, and support the Salemtowne Shines culture.

The role requires 1–2 years of housekeeping experience and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This position is a day shift and involves teamwork with staff to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high levels of facility cleanliness and appearance by performing routine cleaning tasks (vacuuming, dusting, mopping, bathroom cleaning).
• Refresh bath areas by cleaning tubs, toilets, sinks, and restocking towels and mats.
• Demonstrate a friendly, cooperative relationship with residents and staff; support Salemtowne Shines culture.
• Contribute to teamwork by assisting other staff as needed.
• Protect residents and staff by following infection control and OSHA requirements.
• Restock housekeeping cart and respond to residents' needs at end of shift.
• Keep residence clean and return Salemtowne property to its proper location.
• Follow operating instructions, troubleshoot, and coordinate repairs with Maintenance.
• Accept other duties to add value and support the organization.

Job Summary

The Housekeeper ensures facility cleanliness and appearance of residents' cottages, apartments, and rooms as well as common areas by performing various routine cleaning procedures, observing universal precautions, and maintaining a trustworthy relationship with residents and staff.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintains high levels of facility cleanliness and appearance by performing routine cleaning tasks daily which consist of, but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and complete bathroom cleaning.
• Refreshes bath area by cleaning tub, toilet, and sinks; removing used towels and bathmats.
• Presents a positive image within Salemtowne by having a friendly and cooperative relationship with residents and staff. Supports & promotes the Salemtowne Shines culture and philosophy.
• Contribute to teamwork by assisting other staff as assigned or needed.
• Protects residents and employees by adhering to infection control policies and OSHA requirements.
• Ensures responsiveness to residents’ needs by restocking housekeeping cart at end of each shift.
• Keeps residence clean by removing trash, newspapers, recyclables, and returning Salemtowne property to its proper location.
• Keeps residents safe by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; calling Maintenance for repairs.
• Completes other duties as assigned and enhances housekeeping reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Supports Salemtowne Shines culture & philosophy.
• Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
• Adheres to Salemtowne’s policies and procedures regarding the compliance program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
• Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
• Adheres to Salemtowne’s policies and procedures covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Education and Experience

• One (1) – two (2) years’ general facilities housekeeping experience, preferred but will train.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of standing and walking short distances for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push objects greater than 50 pounds.
• Stoop and bend at the knees, twisting from side to side at the waist.
• Reach above, below, and at shoulder level.
• Sensory demands include vision correctable to 20/20, touch using fine finger movement/dexterity, smell, and hear correctable to normal range.
