Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day, including the lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors. Ensure the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms. Maintain handrails to be clean and debris-free. Clean and remove dust, dirt, or food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers. Empty trash cans and replace liners. Sweep and mop floors. Use proper safety measures when cleaning, including caution signage, and keep supplies and chemicals out of residents' reach. Operate supplies and equipment following user manual instructions. Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas safe, sanitary, clean, and organized. Immediately notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing regarding resident safety issues or concerns. Inform the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing. Qualifications include excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and good time management. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma or GED. Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred. Must be able to read and understand manuals and instructions, with basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions (written, oral, diagram, schedule). Fluent in written and spoken English. Physical demands include occasionally lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, and regularly sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, talking, reading, or hearing. Use of office equipment and housekeeping supplies is daily. Work environment is characterized by low to moderate smell and noise levels.
