St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper Floor Tech to join our Florence Environmental Services Team. This full-time role (40 hours, first shift) focuses on floor care, carpet cleaning, and related sanitation duties under supervision.

The position emphasizes safety, infection control, and compassionate service as part of our health system in the Kentucky region. Training and growth opportunities are provided with a commitment to excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow directions; trained and able to complete Net Learning modules.
• Completes Net Learning modules as required.
• 6 months experience in hard floor restoration and carpet care.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor stripping and refinishing; maintain high surface appearance.
• Vacuum, spot clean and deeply clean carpeted areas.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect staff and patients.
• Move furniture and equipment for cleaning or redecoration as needed.
• Assist with daily cleaning in non-patient and patient areas as directed.

Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper Floor Tech to join our Florence Environmental Services Team.

Shift/Hours: Full Time 40 Hours, First Shift

Under direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager, the Floor Technician Attendant will perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning duties. Primarily responsible for all aspects of floor care; stripping of existing floor finish and applying new finish. Also responsible for all aspects of carpet care from vacuuming, spot cleaning and deep extraction of carpeted surfaces.

This position is responsible for sanitation, safety, equipment and other items directly or indirectly affecting the Environmental Services’ employees. Employee must be able to follow the policies and procedures for infection control and standard precautions.

• Performs restoration or project cleaning procedures in order to maintain the appearance of the building at a high level. This includes stripping and refinishing floors, using industrial ride on floor maintenance equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Informs supervisor when supplies are needed before supply is exhausted.
• Dust mops and damp mops or vacuums corridors in order to maintain their cleanliness and appearance.
• All associates shall follow the applicable steps required to perform their duties to ensure safety for themselves and others, and to be in compliance with the medical center, state and federal safety standards. Examples of such steps may include: performing proper safety procedures and precautions; reporting safety concerns and incidents, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Moves furniture and equipment as requested in order to allow for relocation, redecoration, or restorative cleaning of areas within the medical center.
• Performs daily cleaning procedures in non-patient and in-patient areas and restrooms as required by supervision in order to provide coverage when staff shortages occur.
• Removes trash to the trash compactor or waste storage area to insure it is disposed of properly.
• Responsible for the set-up of meetings and the distribution of audio visual equipment.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve.
• Attends in-service programs and completes Net Learning modules as required.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• Ability to read and write; ability to be trained and follow directions

Specialized Knowledge:

• Ability to do heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.

Kind and Length of Experience:

• 6 months prior experience in hard floor restoring/restoration including carpet care.
