Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence, KY is hiring a Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services Team. The role focuses on cleaning patient and non-patient areas to maintain a safe, inviting hospital environment.

We seek dedicated individuals who demonstrate respect and empathy in interactions with patients, families, and staff. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week on first shift, with opportunities for growth within the healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write is required.
• No prior housekeeping experience is necessary.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning in patient and non-patient areas to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.
• Completes detailed cleaning tasks (high dusting, blinds, etc.) weekly or on discharge/transfer to support quality inspections and patient satisfaction.
• Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes restrooms to meet quality expectations.
• Removes trash to designated central location for removal from the building.
• Attends in-service programs and completes Net Learning modules as required.

Shift/Hours: Full Time 40 Hours, First Shift

Position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining patient and non-patient areas within the hospital.

Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

• Performs daily cleaning procedures in patient and non-patient areas in order to provide a clean and safe environment for the patients, visitors and staff of the hospital.
• Completes detailed cleaning duties (high dusting, the cleaning of blinds, etc.) on a weekly basis or upon discharge/transfer of a patient in order to obtain high results on quality assurance inspections as well as patient satisfaction
• Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes restrooms to ensure that they meet quality expectations.
• Removes trash from the areas being cleaned to a central location to facilitate the removal of trash from the building.
• Attends in-service programs, meetings and completes Net Learning modules as required by the hospital.
• All associates shall follow the applicable safety steps required to perform their duties to ensure safety for themselves and their patients, and be in compliance with the hospital, state, and federal safety standards. Examples of such steps may include: performing proper safety procedures and precautions; reporting safety concerns and incidents; and using correct lifting techniques.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
