A healthcare organization is seeking a Utility Worker to ensure cleanliness in patient and public areas, adhering to safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, follows directions well, and possesses attention to detail. This role involves independent and team work, ensuring comfort for patients while performing cleaning tasks.

The Utility Worker cleans occupied patient rooms, discharge/transfer rooms, ancillary, public, and office support areas. They clean equipment used in performing tasks, communicate information concerning tasks and equipment repairs, and carry out assigned tasks as prioritized by a supervisor, house supervisor, or other designee during Emergency Management. They perform other duties as may be assigned and necessary for the functioning of the Environmental Services Department.
The worker will operate independently and in small groups, must be knowledgeable of the business conducted in these areas, and ensure not to interfere with patient care or comfort. They utilize only facility-approved chemicals for cleaning, work with a variety of chemicals and equipment, and may be assigned duties related to grounds and parking lot maintenance.
The Environmental Service Floor Tech is primarily responsible for all floor areas, including tiled floors and carpeted areas, using deluxe cleaning standards for sanitation, safety, and appearance.
This job may require entry into secured areas where medications are stored to fulfill specific duties related to this position.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Must possess the ability to read, speak, write, and follow simple oral and written directions. Prior experience is preferred. After orientation, must demonstrate the correct use of chemicals, supplies, and tools assigned. Computer knowledge is helpful.
