Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, NM is seeking a Housekeeper/Environmental Services Tech to maintain clean and safe patient environments. This full-time position offers a varied shift and a pay range of $16.33 to $23.15 per hour.

Required education is a high school diploma or GED with at least a year of healthcare housekeeping experience preferred. Strong communication with patients, visitors, and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• One year of healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and professional interaction with patients, visitors, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, QA guidelines, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Maintain clean and sanitary environments by dusting, cleaning and disinfecting floors, fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls, and restrooms.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment (vacuum, polishers, mechanical floor cleaners) to maintain floors and surfaces.
• Perform floor care duties (mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, polishing; shampooing carpets/furniture).
• Complete high-level cleaning tasks (vents, fans, light fixtures, window tops, door frames) using ladders as needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash, waste materials, and soiled linens per procedures.
• Perform terminal cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms for new occupants, following isolation protocols.
• Attend training and in-service meetings to maintain knowledge of procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and sanitary environments by dusting furniture, equipment, and surfaces; cleaning and disinfecting floors, fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls, and restrooms.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment, including vacuums, polishers, and mechanical floor cleaners, to maintain floors and other surfaces.
• Perform floor care duties such as mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors, as well as shampooing carpets and furniture.
• Complete high-level cleaning tasks, including cleaning vents, fans, light fixtures, window tops, and door frames, using ladders and appropriate equipment as needed.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash, waste materials, and soiled linens in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform terminal cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms to prepare them for new occupants, following all required injury prevention and isolation protocols.
• Participate in ongoing training, educational programs, and in-service meetings to maintain knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety standards.
• Attend departmental meetings and complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; may be obtained within six months of hire.
• Experience: One year of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and team members.
