Job summary

Petersburg Medical Center in Petersburg, AK is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper / EVS Tech to maintain cleanliness across patient rooms, clinical spaces and common areas.

Primary hours are 10:30 am–7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a full-time, 40-hour week. Applicants should be capable of routine cleaning tasks and passing background checks.

Responsibilities

• Dust and mop hallways upstairs prior to scrubbing and buffing.
• Clean bathrooms thoroughly.
• Dust and mop assigned areas daily.
• Damp dust bed frames and furniture; clean windows and radiators.
• Change curtains; change mop heads daily.
• Change mop water every other room; treat dust mop weekly.
• Damp dust around sprinkler heads.
• Fills in and does laundry when needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Housekeeper / EVS Tech. The Houskeeper clean the Medical Center -- patient rooms, resident rooms and work areas. These work areas include the laboratory, radiology, emergency room, clinic, health center, central supply, surgery, linen closets, storage areas, and lounge areas. The Housekeeper maintains a check off chart of work performed. Employees will be CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) certified within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Dust and mopping of all hallways upstairs previous to being scrubbed and buffed.
• Cleans bathrooms thoroughly
• Dust and mops assigned areas daily.
• Damp dust bed frames and furniture. Cleans windows and windowsills. Cleans radiators.
• Changes curtains as needed. Changes mop heads daily.
• Changes mop water with every other room. Treats dust mop to weekly with Zep-O-Mist
• Damp dusts around sprinkler heads.
• Fills in and does Laundry when needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience as a housekeeper or maid helpful. Must be able to follow guidelines for cleaning approved by the Infection Preventionist.
• Physical job - must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and run basic equipment. Work requires standing for most of the shift.
• Includes lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and carrying heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
• Must be able to pass a State of Alaska background check and a drug screen (including Marijuana).

Working Environment

Works in a clean, well-lit environment around patients, residents, family members and employees. Normal housekeeping for healthcare hazards are present; i.e., potential for germs, infectious surroundings, utilizing chemicals with proper gear to clean.

• Housekeeper is a full time, 40 hour per week position.
• Primary hours for work are 10:30 am - 7 pm, Monday - Friday.
