Title: Housekeeper
Department/Location: Facilities Department, Principia College
Organizational Relationship: Reports directly to Housekeeping/Flex supervisors.
Summary: Performs custodial/housekeeping duties in accordance with established standards and instructions in assigned building with minimal supervision.

Work Performed: Essential Duties*
- Cleans restrooms daily: floors, fixtures, mirrors, etc.; replenishes restroom supplies and disposes of trash.
- Maintains (clean, vacuum, wet mop) hallways, stairways, lounges, classrooms, storage areas, entrances, and offices.
- Maintains floors and carpets in all areas on a regular basis.
- Trains and supervises student custodial crews.
- Reports items that need repair such as: doors, door check/closures, furniture, lights, faucets, etc., on the EARL (Easy Access Repair Line) for non- emergencies.
- Spot cleans carpets as small to medium spots appear.
- Changes and collects linens as needed, makes beds when guests are on campus.
- Places orders for cleaning supplies and toiletry items at office and stock after delivery by others.
- Completes paperwork as needed, such as filling in timecards on a daily basis, work requests for repairs, etc.
- Occasionally changes light bulbs in lamps and some ceiling light fixtures.
- Fills in for other Housekeepers as needed.

Special Requirements
- Physical fitness with no physical limitations: ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk distances between buildings, lift 40 lbs. and carry 30 lbs, in accordance with job analysis and physician’s approval during pre-employment job physical.
- Must be able to schedule vacations during non-busy times. Vacation approval may be limited during peak activity periods.
- Some overtime is required.
- Wear or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Current, valid Driver’s License.
- General knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous chemicals.

Compensation And Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range for this position: $16.00- $16.68 hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
