Job summary

The State of Georgia's East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness across facilities. Under general supervision, you will clean assigned areas, launder and distribute linens, and ensure safety practices.

You will help with equipment maintenance, assist in preventative tasks, and contribute to a safe, sanitary environment for patients and staff. Minimum qualifications include one year of related experience; preferred knowledge of cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• Must have some basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning chemicals, and how to operate some equipment used in cleaning.
• 2 years of job related experience, able to lift and/or move 10-20 lbs.
• One (1) year of experience in related area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 1 (FES040) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and straightens assigned areas.
• Collect, sorts, launders, transports, and distributes linens and uniforms.
• Observes required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse.
• Maintains and stocks equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ensures laundry, housekeeping and floor equipment is in good working condition.
• May mend linens and assist in preventative maintenance and repair.
