Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking a routine cleaning specialist to perform cleaning in offices and public areas within OU Residential communities. The role includes mopping, dusting, waste disposal, and making ready services for residential spaces, with the potential for overnight presence and rotating weekend shifts.

Must be able to work irregular hours, overtime, and may be designated as essential during emergencies. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license is required, and background checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning in offices and public access areas within OU Residential communities. Tasks are precisely defined.
• Mops, sweeps, waxes, and polishes floors. Cleans and dusts furniture, equipment, etc.
• Locks and unlocks offices, classrooms, and conference areas.
• Contacts with others are of a routine nature. Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse.
• Vacuums carpeted areas where applicable. Maintains lavatories and rest rooms in a sanitary condition.
• Make Ready Services will include deep cleaning of residential bathrooms, kitchens, surfaces, and floors.
• May shovel snow from doorways and sidewalks. Performs related duties as assigned.
• Make Ready Services will include but are not limited to: deep clean bathrooms, kitchens, and all surfaces.
• May be designated as essential and may be required to work during campus closure or inclement weather.
• May work weekends and scheduled overtime.

Pay Range:Targeted salary up to $13.75 per hour, based on experience

Work Schedule:7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Will require working irregular hours and require overtime. May be designated as an \"essential position\" during emergency closures or inclement weather. May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies. Will also be scheduled to work a rotating weekend shift schedule.

Position Introduction:

Performs routine cleaning in offices and public access areas within OU Residential communities. Tasks are precisely defined.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Mops, sweeps, waxes, and polishes floors. Cleans and dusts furniture, equipment, etc. Locks and unlocks offices, classrooms, and conference areas. Contacts with others are of a routine nature. Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse. Vacuums carpeted areas where applicable. Maintains lavatories and rest rooms in a sanitary condition. Completes Make Ready services. May shovel snow from doorways and sidewalks. Performs related duties as assigned. Make Ready Services will include but are not limited to the following: Deep clean residential bathrooms, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, light fixtures and all surface areas. Replace shower curtains. Deep clean kitchens including inside and outside of refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops, ovens and dishwashers. Clean spills, remove burn-on food, grease, and other items. Deep clean and trash removal from all cabinetry and furniture. Deep clean ceiling fans, blinds, light fixtures, vents, and all surface areas. Deep clean doors, walls, windows, and floors. Remove all visible spots, stickers, residue, etc. Sanitize both sides of mattresses. Perform carpet care including spot cleaning, stain extraction and shampooing. Complete stain treatment/shampoo of residential furniture, vacuum under cushions. Adjustment and staging of furniture.

*Considered essential and may be required to work during campus closure and/or inclement weather.May work weekends and scheduled overtime.
