Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, including trash removal, changing bed linens, and surface sanitization.
2. Follow policies on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
3. Stock paper items and supplies in designated areas.
4. Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of carts and equipment.
5. Promote safety by using wet floor signs, PPE, and ensuring carts and supplies are attended.
6. Use chemicals and equipment safely, following proper dilution and labeling procedures.
7. Report equipment repairs and safety hazards to supervisors.
8. Communicate issues promptly to supervisors, including schedule issues and observed deficiencies.
9. Maintain confidentiality and establish positive relationships with hospital personnel.
10. Articulate service scripts effectively to patients and customers.
11. Use resources efficiently and manage work schedules effectively.
12. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
13. Present a professional appearance and demeanor.
14. Provide accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, assisting with directions as needed.
15. Apply service recovery skills to resolve problems and service breakdowns.
16. Work collaboratively with co-workers across departments, respecting diverse opinions and contributions.

Qualifications

Required:

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Use of department tracking and communication tools.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Preferred:

• One to three years of environmental services experience in healthcare or hospitality.
