Introduction

LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to properly clean all of the lobbies, offices, restrooms, mail rooms, print shops, hallways, stairways, elevators, etc. in each building in the Annapolis State Office Complex assigned to State workers.�


This is an emergency essential classification subject to emergency release procedures. Employees in this classification must be willing and available for duty at such hours, day or night, and are required to remain or report for duty at such hours as needed to maintain the continuous operation of this agency.�


If you are the selected candidate, you will be required to complete a Pre-Employment Physical, which will assess your ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

POSITION DUTIES

Duties for this position
include but are not limited to:
- Dust, remove trash and vacuum
all offices, lobbies and hallways.
- Sweep and wet mop all floor
areas and stairwells.
- Clean restrooms daily to
include sanitizing toilets, urinals, sinks and mirrors, stock with soap, paper
products and sanitary products.
- Shampoo carpets throughout
the building twice a year.
- Strip and wax tiled floors
twice a year and spray buff at various intervals.
- Assist with moving furniture
and equipment and set up tables and chairs for meetings/special events.
- Perform routine building
maintenance such as, preparing surfaces for painting, installing and replacing
light bulbs, cleaning and unclogging drains, traps and lines and replacing
washers as needed.
- Assist with shoveling snow
and salting sidewalks and steps in the Winter.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: None.
Experience: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.

Please note, selected candidates may be required to complete and successfully pass a State and Federal fingerprint background check prior to being hired.
