Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks an Environmental Services Associate at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital to maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the Medical Center. You will support infection prevention by thorough cleaning, waste handling, and using approved equipment in line with safety standards.

This on-site role requires cleaning expertise, a high school diploma (preferred), and 0–1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted.
• 0–1 year of related cleaning/ environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties according to schedules and infection control guidelines.
• Maintains assigned areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
• Removes and disposes of waste per waste-stream procedures.
• Cleans and services areas following departmental standards.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Operates cleaning equipment (floor machines/buffers).
• Follows safety procedures for chemicals, equipment, and waste.
• Participates in department meetings (minimum eight annually).
• Performs additional cleaning and environmental services duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Summary

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the Medical Center. This role supports infection prevention efforts by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, properly handling and disposing of waste, and using appropriate cleaning equipment and procedures in accordance with established safety and infection control standards.

Essential Functions

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties in accordance with established schedules, departmental procedures, and infection control guidelines.
• Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• Removes and properly disposes of waste in accordance with established waste-stream procedures.
• Cleans and services assigned areas following departmental standards and procedures.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout the Medical Center as needed.
• Operates assigned cleaning equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
• Follows appropriate safety procedures when handling cleaning supplies, equipment, and waste.
• Participates in a minimum of eight department/unit meetings annually.
• Perform additional cleaning and environmental services duties as assigned.

Schedule

32 hours per week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
