Job summary

Courtyard Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain clean guest rooms and public areas. The role emphasizes attention to detail, positive guest interactions, and teamwork to ensure a first‑class stay.

Shifts include morning and early evening with a starting wage of $18.40 per hour. We offer benefits eligibility for full‑time staff, travel discounts, and opportunities for advancement through our Management Development Program.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a hotel setting or similar role is preferred
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Excellent English communication skills; reading and writing proficient

Responsibilities

• Clean and arrange guest rooms
• Wash dirty bedding, clothing, and linen
• Stock and maintain housekeeping supplies inventory
• Dust furniture or fixtures and polish surfaces
• Scrub and sanitize showers, bathtubs, toilets, countertops, and sinks
• Vacuum and clean carpets, doormats, and rugs
• Report breakages, damages, and safety issues for repairs

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a hotel setting or in a similar role is ideal, but willing to train the right person. We are dedicated to thoroughly training & developing our team into hotel leaders through interactive teamwork in a positive work environment!
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
• Excellent English communication skills and able to read, write and speak fluently
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish speaking) is a plus

Schedule:

• Morning shift: 8:00am-4:30pm
• Evening shift: 12:00pm-8:00pm

Starting at $18.40 per hour
