Job summary

AdviniaCare in Warren, RI is seeking a detail-oriented housekeeping team member to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.

You will perform daily cleaning tasks, follow safety practices, and collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality care. English proficiency is required and prior nursing home housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or related medical facility.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to follow instructions, accept constructive criticism, and work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents with care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean, and free from odor
• Wet mop floors daily
• Shampoo and extract carpets as per schedule
• Attend to spills immediately
• Empty trash liners and clean containers
• Clean bed and rails with disinfectant
• Clean all countertops, windowsills, bedside tables, furniture, and over-the-bed items
• Strip, seal, and refinish floors as per schedule
• Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up
• Clean windows and mirrors
• Clean personal items, pictures, decorations, flowers, etc.
• Demonstrate correct safety techniques
• Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions
• Comply with privacy practices and protect residents' health information
• Other duties assigned by the managerial team

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or other related medical facility (preferred, but not required)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents based on their current maturity level
• Ability to seek out and accept new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
• Ability to communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations
