Job summary

Skilled Nursing of NY is hiring a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. The schedule is 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and the ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and attentive to detail.

You will clean resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces, prepare rooms for new admissions, manage linens, sanitation, floors, and assist with weather-related cleanup and special projects under the supervision of the Housekeeping Director.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience required.
• Experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces
• Prepare rooms for new admissions to ensure they are move-in ready
• Clean and disinfect furnishings, fixtures, ledges, restrooms, and heating/AC units
• Handle and distribute clean linens and assist with linen delivery throughout the facility
• Remove trash and support overall sanitation efforts across the building
• Assist with stripping and waxing floors as needed
• Break down and set up areas as needed for cleaning and facility operations
• Assist with snow shoveling and weather-related cleanup as needed
• Participate in special cleaning projects and other assigned facility tasks
• Follow established housekeeping procedures and regulatory guidelines
• Complete assigned tasks under the direction of the Housekeeping Director
• Perform physical duties, including lifting up to 75 pounds
