The purpose of this position is to provide campus services in areas of cleaning and minor maintenance requests throughout the campus to meet the needs of residents and employees, and to help assure that facilities are in good condition.

In this role, the Housekeeper will:

• Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedule and using departmental standards and infection control guidelines.
• Complete minor maintenance including light bulbs, plunge toilets, and change batteries as needed.
• Perform cleaning tasks inside and outside in accordance with department standards, following the established schedule.
• Maintain all floors as appropriate, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, extraction, hosting, and buffing.
• Assist in cleaning emergency spills that are observed or reported.
• Perform project cleaning such as walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures, windows, etc.
• Remove trash and recyclables from collection points, public areas, and outside entrances, and transport to dumpster/trash areas. Replace trash liners as needed.
• Deep clean rooms/units during transfers/discharges per standards.
• Move furniture as needed and assist in resident moves during transfers/discharges.
• Participate in campus linen program, including distributing, collecting, and handling linens.
• Make beds in guest rooms or residences as needed.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report or repair issues as appropriate.
• Observe and report repairs needed for facilities, furniture, fixtures, etc.
• Assist in receiving supplies, deliveries, and storage.
• Participate in campus snow and ice salting as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Some high school education.
• Housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience.
• Effective communication skills in English, verbal and written.
• Dependability, organization skills, ability to follow instructions, and work independently.
• An interest in working with older adults is preferred.
• Availability on weekends may be required.

Compensation Pay Range:

$11.59 - $13.68

Reasonable Pay Estimate

The estimated pay range is $11.59 - $13.68, depending on qualifications, experience, and other factors.
