Job summary

Wolf Creek Care Center is seeking a dependable Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms, sanitize surfaces, and operate cleaning equipment while following safety protocols.

Teamwork and the ability to work independently are essential in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and prior housekeeping experience in healthcare

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
  • Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
  • Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
  • Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
  • Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
  • Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.

General PurposeThe Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that all areas of the facility are free of obstacles, odors, and debris, contributing to the overall health and comfort of those in our care.Essential DutiesClean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.Supervisory RequirementsThis position has no supervisory requirements.QualificationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manualsand directions.Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication andDivision.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
