Job summary

Journey is seeking a detail-oriented cleaning staff member to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across resident areas. You will follow directions from the Maintenance Director, adhere to daily and deep-cleaning schedules, and ensure high standards of hygiene and safety.

You will report equipment issues, follow infection control policies, and complete required documentation while treating residents with dignity and respect and supporting isolation and safety procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans according to department policies under the Maintenance Director.
• Ensures daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
• Maintains a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
• Reports any equipment defects to the Maintenance Director.
• Adheres to infection control policies and PPE requirements.
• Completes daily documentation.
• Makes supply packs and delivers linen to departments.
• Delivers linen to departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules.
• Takes care of residents with dignity and respect.
• Follows safety and hygiene measures to protect residents and staff.

Job description

• Carries out all cleaning duties as directed by theMaintenance Director according to required department policies and procedures.
• Ensures that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
• Maintains a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
• Ensures all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition. Reports any defect to theMaintenance Director.
• Practices sensitivity to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
• Adheres to infection control policies at all times.
• Adheres to correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Ensures all necessary documentation is completed daily.
• Carries out other duties as assigned bysupervisor.
• Dustsfurniture, woodwork,equipmentand dust-mops floors.Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
• Mopsrooms,hallsand other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.
• Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, door frames and other high surfaces.
• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags and containers.
• Moves furniture and other heavy objects asrequired.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of resident rooms and prepares rooms for new admissions; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows,doorsand walls of bathrooms.
• Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks inlinen closetsfor distribution.Takes supply requests and delivers them.
• Delivers linen to departments according to pre-established par levels and schedules.
• Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment andassistswith other cleaning duties as assigned.
• Treats all residents with dignity and respect.Promotes and protects all residents’ rights.
• Followappropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves.
• Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
• Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicalsin accordance withfacility policy.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and abilities.
