Job summary

Western Slope Health Center in Placerville, CA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents in our skilled nursing facility. This full-time role supports healthcare professionals and contributes to a welcoming home-like atmosphere.

You'll perform cleaning tasks across resident rooms, common areas, and facilities, while following infection control procedures and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare/long-term care housekeeping experience is a plus—training provided.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Positive attitude and excellent customer service.
• Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing floors and surfaces.
• Cleaning lobbies, restrooms, hallways, windows, mirrors, drinking fountains, and handrails.
• Emptying trash receptacles and replacing liners.
• Operating housekeeping equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintaining housekeeping carts, equipment, and supply rooms in a clean and organized manner.
• Following infection control procedures and facility safety policies.
• Properly storing cleaning chemicals and using caution signage when appropriate.
• Reporting resident safety concerns promptly to leadership.
• Monitoring housekeeping supplies and notifying the Director of Housekeeping when inventory needs replenishment.
• Providing friendly, professional customer service to residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
• Working independently and collaboratively to maintain high cleanliness standards.

What You’ll Do

As a Housekeeper, you'll help maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout our skilled nursing facility by:

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, hotel, or long-term care is a plus—but we're willing to train motivated candidates
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Repetitive cleaning activities throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools
