Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers is seeking a full-time housekeeping team member for the second shift. You will provide a clean, orderly and safe living environment for residents, while ensuring confidentiality of resident information and adherence to infection control guidelines.

The role includes daily cleaning, equipment operation and supply management, moving resident belongings, and supporting a respectful, safe facility. Benefits are available as part of the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
• High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to push/pull sweepers and carts and lift up to 40 pounds in an eight hour shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently during the shift.
• Operates housekeeping and laundry machines such as floor machines, wet vacs, washer, and dryer.

Responsibilities

• Treats resident information as confidential.
• Complies with policies and maintains standards.
• Cleans and operates housekeeping equipment safely.
• Performs cleaning per Infection Control and Right To Know programs.
• Performs general daily cleaning in assigned areas.
• Keeps areas furnished with supplies.
• Assists in moving residents' furniture and belongings.
• Keeps furniture orderly and neat.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Job Highlights:

Full-time 2nd shift position.Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.

Job Summary:

Provides a clean, orderly and safe living environment throughout the facility.

Essential Functions:

1. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
2. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
3. Responsible for proper operations and cleaning of housekeeping equipment in a safe manner.
4. Performs housekeeping functions in accordance with the Infection Control Program and understands the Right To Know Program.
5. Performs general daily cleaning (dusting, mopping, sterilizing, disinfecting, sweeping, etc.) in assigned work areas.
6. Keeps assigned areas furnished with supplies.
7. Assists in moving resident’s furniture and personal belongings.
8. Keeps furniture in an orderly and neat arrangement.
9. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
3. High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
4. Ability to do repeated pushing and pulling of sweepers and housekeeping carts, and lifting or carrying a minimum of 40 pounds throughout an eight hour shift.
5. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist and turn frequently throughout the course of an eight hour shift
6. Operates housekeeping and laundry machines, i.e., floor machines, wet vacs, washer, dryer, etc.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift in performing regular duties. Must be able to lift buckets of water, full trash bags, boxes of cleaning supplies, and the like. Must be able to handle the frequent motions and repeated pushing and pulling involved in using electric floor equipment, wet mops, large brooms, cleaning carts with buckets of water on them, etc. Must be able to lift and transfer a minimum of 40 pounds to do these functions.
