Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the Hospice Care Center in an orderly and homelike condition, including patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, living rooms, dining room, staff lounge, and bathrooms.

Responsibilities

• Vacuums, dusts, empties trash, and thoroughly cleans all assigned areas according to the housekeeping policy's specified frequency and standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and homelike environment at all times.
• Responds promptly and cheerfully to emergency cleanup requests.
• Cleans and disinfects patient care equipment, such as beds, over-bed tables, and bedside commodes, especially during room occupancy changes, following OSHA requirements.
• Reports any changes in patient condition, patient or family requests, and hazardous conditions to the charge nurse promptly.
• Reports hazardous conditions to the charge nurse or Clinical Supervisor as appropriate.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Willing to travel 25-75% as required.
