Responsibilities include cleaning resident areas, restrooms, dining rooms, and utility spaces, plus terminal cleaning of rooms on discharge. The role emphasizes sanitation, safety, and timely completion of tasks in a care setting.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects resident areas, restrooms, showers/baths, resident dining rooms, utility rooms, corridors, stairwells and elevators.
• Empties and relines trash containers taking trash to designated holding area.
• Dust mop, vacuum, and damp mops floors.
• Cleans and disinfects high touch surfaces including over-bed tables, light switches, shower stalls, restroom fixtures.
• Vacuum/damp wipes ledges, over-bed lights, vents, windowsills and furniture.
• Replenishes paper towels, toilet paper and soap supplies.
• Ensures furniture is neatly arranged.
• Performs terminal cleaning of resident rooms on discharge, including mattresses and frames.
• Shampoos/extract carpets and upholstery.
• Scrubs and refinishes hard surface flooring.

Job description

Job Summary:

Responsible to maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned area following established procedures. Ensures that all residents and staff service requests, as directed by your supervisor, are completed with a sense of urgency. Use proper care of equipment and control the usage of cleaning supplies. Part-Time shifts available.

Responsibilities:

• Cleans and disinfects resident areas, restrooms, showers/baths, resident dining rooms, utility rooms, corridors, stairwells and elevators.
• Empties and relines trash containers taking trash to designated holding area
• Dust mop, vacuum, and damp mops floors,
• Cleans and disinfects all high touch surfaces including over-bed tables, light switches, shower stalls, restroom sink and toilet fixtures
• Vacuum/damp wipes ledges, over-bed lights, vents, windowsills and furniture.
• Cleans inside of room glass and glass panels
• Replenished paper towel, toilet paper and soap supplies to ensure these items are always available.
• Ensures that all furniture is neatly and properly arranged.
• Performs terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon discharge. In addition to daily cleaning responsibilities must clean and disinfect bed mattress and frame, bed side cabinets, Armoires, wheelchairs.
• Shampoos/extract carpets and upholstered furniture.
• Scrubs and refinished hard surface flooring.

Safety and Sanitation

• Follow established policies regarding the use of labels and SDS.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials and/or hazardous waste or chemicals and disposed PPE properly.
• Dispose of refuse daily or as often as required in accordance with standard procedures/
• Ensure proper cleaning cart set-up and that all chemicals are in are containers properly labeled.
• Follow the prescribed routine/terminal cleaning procedures as established by nursing.
• Ensures that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing job functions.
