Job summary

Shamin Hotels in Virginia is seeking a Housekeeper to clean and maintain guest rooms, hallways, and common areas. Responsibilities include making beds, replenishing supplies, sanitizing equipment, and performing general cleaning tasks.

You will vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, wash windows, and report to shifts on time in uniform, following all safety and company policies. Prior hospitality experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make beds.
• Replenishes supplies, such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Reports to working for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.

Cleaning rooms includes duties such as refilling supplies, sanitizing equipment, or making beds. The role almost always includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other general cleaning tasks.
