Shamin Hotels is seeking an experienced Housekeeper in Mechanicsville, VA to maintain guest rooms and public areas to high standards. The role involves cleaning, replenishing supplies, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for guests across hotel spaces.

The position is part-time in the Operations department with hourly pay and bi-weekly compensation. Prior housekeeping experience and customer service skills are preferred, with opportunities for advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• Must have customer service skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required.
• Experience with hotel brand systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make beds and replenish supplies.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other areas.
• Vacuum, dust, mop, and maintain clean furnishings and fixtures.
• Replenish bathroom supplies and replace light bulbs.
• Follow safety data sheet regulations when handling chemicals.
• Report to shifts on time in uniform and adhere to company policy.

Position Overview:

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring and work areas. Cleaning rooms includes duties such as refilling supplies, sanitizing equipment, or making beds. The role almost always includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other general cleaning tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

• Make beds.
• Replenishes supplies, such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Reports to working for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred..
• Hotel housekeeping experience preferred
• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.
• Experience with Hotel Brand systems preferred.
• Customer Service Skills required.
• Prioritization and time management skills required.
• Working quickly without compromising quality.
• Must have a strong attention to detail
