Job summary

Atria Senior Living in Malden, MA is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. You will handle cleaning tasks in apartments and common areas, perform laundry duties, and stock supplies as needed.

The role requires the ability to follow training programs, operate cleaning equipment, and work varied schedules. Strong English communication and basic math are essential, with attention to sanitation and organization.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete all Company specified training programs.
• Able to operate cleaning equipment such as irons, washers/dryers, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents.
• General knowledge of sanitation.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean public areas and resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
• Perform all housekeeping duties including distributing laundered articles and linens, changing beds, cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies.
• Carry out laundry duties: washing/drying resident laundry, folding/hanging, distributing linens, changing bed linens.
• Maintain resident laundry areas and keep storage/utility rooms clean.
• Wash windows, keep areas clean and orderly, disinfect equipment and supplies.

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing cleaning duties assigned to apartments, interior and exterior common areas and amenities.

• Clean public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
• Perform all housekeeping duties including:
• Distributing laundered articles and linens
• Changing beds
• Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
• Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
• Dusting furniture and equipment
• Polishing metalwork
• Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
• Performs all laundry duties, including:
• Washing and drying resident laundry and textiles in provided appliances
• Folding and/or hanging laundry appropriately
• Distributing laundered articles and linens
• Changing bed linens.
• Maintain resident laundry areas, including mopping floors, washing walls, and checking lint traps regularly.
• Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested.
• Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies.
• Stock the cleaning cart with supplies.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area(s).
• Work with maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean.
• Request maintenance work orders for any maintenance repairs needed.
• Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
