Job summary

Atria Signature Collection in New York is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain clean and safe living spaces for residents. You will perform cleaning of apartments and common areas, assist with laundry, and support overall community housekeeping operations.

The role requires reliable schedule flexibility and strong English communication with residents and staff. Applicants should be comfortable operating cleaning equipment, following safety protocols, and maintaining high cleanliness standards

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete all company-mandated training programs.
• Able to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., irons, washers/dryers, brooms, mops, vacuums).
• Willing to work varying schedules and shifts.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Communicate effectively in English with residents and staff.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safety.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident apartments and public areas (bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture).
• Perform all housekeeping duties including linen distribution, changing beds, cleaning restrooms, and replenishing supplies.
• Carry out laundry duties: wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens; change bed linens.
• Maintain resident laundry areas and mop/wash walls as needed.
• Clean windows and uphold cleanliness of storage/utility spaces.
• Disinfect and sanitize equipment and stock cleaning carts.
• Report safety concerns and maintenance needs to supervisor.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing cleaning duties assigned to apartments, interior and exterior common areas and amenities.

• Clean public areas and resident’s apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
• Perform all housekeeping duties including:
  • Distributing laundered articles and linens
  • Changing beds
  • Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dusting furniture and equipment
  • Polishing metalwork
  • Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
• Performs all laundry duties, including:
  • Washing and drying resident laundry and textiles in provided appliances
  • Folding and/or hanging laundry appropriately
  • Distributing laundered articles and linens
  • Changing bed linens.
• Maintain resident laundry areas, including mopping floors, washing walls, and checking lint traps regularly.
• Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested.
• Keep utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies.
• Stock the cleaning cart with supplies.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area(s).
• Work with maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean.
• Request maintenance work orders for any maintenance repairs needed.
• Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
