Job summary

Bethel Lutheran Home Madison SD is seeking a dependable Housekeeping Assistant to keep our home clean, safe, and welcoming for our seniors. You will follow cleaning schedules, tidy resident rooms, and support a positive, respectful environment.

This full-time role requires physical stamina and a willingness to participate in weekend/holiday rotations, with training provided to maintain infection control standards and proper safety procedures for residents and staff alike.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, entrances, and hallways.
• Sweep, mop, disinfect, dust, and polish surfaces.
• Empty trash, replace liners, and transport soiled linens.
• Perform deep/terminal cleaning after resident discharges.
• Maintain equipment and use proper safety and infection control procedures.
• Report repair needs or supply shortages.
• Support a positive, respectful environment for residents, families, and coworkers.
• Help train or mentor new housekeeping assistants (if experienced)
• Additional job duties as required

Here’s What You’ll Do

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods

Work Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background check

• Must follow infection prevention and safety protocols
• Willingness to take part in scheduled weekend/holiday rotations
