Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services in Longview, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to help maintain high standards of cleanliness for our residents. This full-time, onsite role focuses on delivering compassionate, reliable service in a senior living community.

You will perform general cleaning, laundry support, and related housekeeping tasks, ensuring safe and comfortable environments. Strong English communication and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning devices and cleaning agents.
• Fluent English (speak, read and write) and ability to follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility daily.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a courteous manner and maintain excellent customer service for residents and visitors.
• Clean and service rooms, baths, offices; dust, clean glass, empty trash; replenish supplies.
• Clean, mop, and treat floors; vacuum carpet.
• Mix/dilute cleaning products per instructions.
• Move furniture and assist other departments as needed.
• Keep storage rooms orderly and linen closets maintained.

Job Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a Housekeeper to join our community committed to delivering outstanding cleanliness to our residents. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in all phases of cleanliness that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Perform all duties in a courteous manner and maintain excellence in customer service including but not limited to cheerfully greeting residents and visitors and exercising respect with co-workers.
• Clean and service rooms, baths, and offices; dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, window sills, light globes; empty trash baskets and remove trash; clean and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenish supplies of soap and towels; clean and polish brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling; check and fill all dispensers – hand soap, paper.
• Clean, mop, and treat floors.. Vacuum all carpet.
• Mix/dilute housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions.
• Move furniture as needed in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist other departments with cleaning and other housekeeping assignments.
• Keep utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floors. Organize and maintain linen closets in a safe and orderly condition at all times.

What you'll bring:

• Requires in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations; prior related experience preferred.
• Requires basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements.
• Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English; ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions given in English.
• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility on a daily basis.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment, and/or machines at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
• Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
