Job summary

Kennebunk Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a friendly Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, healing environment for residents, guests and staff. This entry-level role offers meaningful work and real opportunities to learn about long-term care within a supportive team.

Duties include daily cleaning, sanitizing rooms and common areas, restocking supplies, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness.
  • Willingness to learn cleaning protocols and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming and sanitizing resident rooms and common areas.
  • Ensure bathrooms, kitchens and common areas are clean and hygienic.
  • Dispose of trash and waste in a safe, compliant manner.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff.
  • Operate cleaning equipment as required.

What You'll Do:

As a Housekeeper, the clean, healing environment that you create will improve the comfort and well-being of our residents, guests and team. This entry-level position also offers a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn more about long-term care and its many career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas and resident rooms
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
  • Dispose of trash and waste
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe and organized environment
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines, vacuums, etc.

Rate of Pay

USD $17.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Housekeeper include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention and safety measures in long-term care are highly valued but not required; training will be provided
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
