Job summary

OPS Living seeks a dedicated Housekeeper / Laundry Aide to maintain clean resident apartments and common areas, and to provide quality laundry services in a senior living community. You will work closely with nursing, maintenance, and leadership teams to support exceptional resident experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Clean resident apartments according to established schedules and company standards.
  • Clean common areas including dining rooms, hallways, activity spaces, offices, public restrooms, and entrances.
  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, sanitize, and disinfect assigned areas.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
  • Empty trash and replace liners throughout the community.
  • Restock housekeeping supplies and notify leadership when inventory is running low.
  • Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards immediately.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and linens accurately.
  • Ensure clothing and linens are properly labeled and returned to the correct resident.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
  • Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
  • Monitor laundry equipment for proper operation and report maintenance concerns.
  • Follow infection prevention procedures when handling soiled linens.
  • Interact with residents in a warm, friendly, and respectful manner.
  • Respect resident privacy and personal belongings while working in apartments.
  • Respond courteously to resident requests and communicate concerns to appropriate team members.
  • Help create a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment where residents feel proud to call the community home.
  • Support residents' dignity by providing discreet and professional housekeeping services.
  • Follow all company safety policies and infection prevention procedures.
  • Properly use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) awareness and follow chemical handling procedures.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Maintain survey readiness through consistent housekeeping practices.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and state guidelines related to environmental services.
  • Work closely with nursing, dietary, maintenance, activities, and leadership teams.
  • Assist with apartment turnovers and move-in preparations.
  • Support community events by ensuring common areas remain clean and presentable.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding priorities and resident concerns.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by assisting other departments when needed.

The Housekeeper / Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, offices, and other community spaces while providing quality laundry services that ensure residents have clean clothing and linens. This position works closely with the Maintenance Director, Executive Director, nursing team, and other departments to support exceptional resident experiences.

  • Experience operating commercial laundry equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
