Job summary

Solera at West Houston in Houston, TX is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks for patient rooms, common areas, and facilities. Duties include cleaning, dusting, mopping, window care, and general maintenance as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily.
• Uses proper chemicals in proper portions and mops floors.
• Empties trash, replaces liners, and disposes of trash properly.
• Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Washes and dries windows with proper equipment.
• Reports repairs and requests supplies to Supervisor.
• Identifies safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Supports Patient Care Management Systems and ensures patient safety.

Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Housekeeping Assistant position is to perform scheduled housekeeping tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.

Essential Functions:

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas on a daily basis and in accordance with Facility protocols.
• Uses proper chemicals in proper portions. May dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors.
• Empties trash containers, replaces liners as appropriate and disposes of trash in proper receptacles.
• Vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
