Job summary

Faulkton Area Medical Center is seeking an as-needed (PRN) Housekeeper to support the facility with cleaning and sanitation in Hospital, Clinic, and grounds. This role offers flexible coverage based on staffing needs, with shifts that may be daytime or evening and could include weekends and holidays.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Prior housekeeping experience is also preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Independently complete cleaning tasks to required standards.
• Knowledge of general cleaning practices and supplies.
• Willingness to learn facility-specific procedures.
• Capable of following directions and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Dust, wash and disinfect furniture, fixtures, and equipment; sweep, mop, wax, buff floors.
• Gather and dispose of refuse and keep areas organized and sanitary.
• Arrange furniture and strip/make beds as needed in patient areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment for patients and staff.

Job description

Faulkton Area Medical Center is seeking applicants for an as-needed (PRN) Housekeeper to provide coverage based on facility needs . A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must have a general knowledge of cleaning practices and a willingness to learn.

Ability to work independently without direct supervision is required. This as-needed position does not have a guaranteed number of hours. Shifts may include daytime or evening hours and may include weekend and holiday coverage in coordination with the housekeeping team.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

• Ability to perform a variety of housekeeping duties such as dusting, washing and disinfecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment; sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors; gathering and disposing of refuse; arranging furniture, stripping and making beds and performing similar tasks
• Maintain facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for patient care and staff work
• Take ownership of assigned work which includes areas in the Hospital, Clinic, and grounds
• Follow directions and deal effectively with others

Physical demands include but are not limited to:

• Continuous standing and walking
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent pushing, bending, reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation
• Occasional squatting or kneeling
