Responsibilities
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing cleaning duties assigned to apartments, interior and exterior common areas, and amenities.
- Clean public areas and residents’ apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
- Perform all housekeeping duties including:
- Distributing laundered articles and linens
- Changing beds
- Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
- Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- Dusting furniture and equipment
- Polishing metalwork
- Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
- Perform laundry duties including:
- Washing and drying resident laundry and textiles in provided appliances
- Folding and hanging laundry appropriately
- Distributing laundered articles and linens
- Changing bed linens
- Maintain resident laundry areas, including mopping floors, washing walls, and checking lint traps regularly.
- Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested.
- Keep utility and storage rooms clean and orderly.
- Disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies.
- Stock the cleaning cart with supplies.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas.
- Work with maintenance to ensure trash and dumpster areas are clean.
- Request maintenance work orders for repairs needed.
- Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly.
- Report unsafe conditions or maintenance issues to Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
- Complete all Company specified training programs successfully.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as washers, dryers, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
- Work various schedules and shifts as needed.
- Possess basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents.
- Have a general knowledge of sanitation.
- Exhibit strong organization and time management skills.
- Possess basic computer skills.
