Responsibilities

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff by performing cleaning duties assigned to apartments, interior and exterior common areas, and amenities.

  • Clean public areas and residents’ apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas.
  • Perform all housekeeping duties including:
    • Distributing laundered articles and linens
    • Changing beds
    • Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies as needed
    • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
    • Dusting furniture and equipment
    • Polishing metalwork
    • Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • Perform laundry duties including:
    • Washing and drying resident laundry and textiles in provided appliances
    • Folding and hanging laundry appropriately
    • Distributing laundered articles and linens
    • Changing bed linens
  • Maintain resident laundry areas, including mopping floors, washing walls, and checking lint traps regularly.
  • Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested.
  • Keep utility and storage rooms clean and orderly.
  • Disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies.
  • Stock the cleaning cart with supplies.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas.
  • Work with maintenance to ensure trash and dumpster areas are clean.
  • Request maintenance work orders for repairs needed.
  • Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly.
  • Report unsafe conditions or maintenance issues to Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Complete all Company specified training programs successfully.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as washers, dryers, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc.
  • Work various schedules and shifts as needed.
  • Possess basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents.
  • Have a general knowledge of sanitation.
  • Exhibit strong organization and time management skills.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
