Job summary

Forest Lawn is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe, and comforting environments for families and staff at our Cypress campus. Candidates must have a high school diploma, a valid California driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, dusting, and furniture care while delivering exceptional customer service to visiting families and colleagues. This role requires flexibility for weekends and some holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in custodial, cleaning, or housekeeping.

• Must be available to work full-time, including weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum assigned areas and spot-clean carpets as needed.
• Clean all restrooms, mop floors, clean toilets/sinks/mirrors/counters, empty trash; refill dispensers.
• Dust and polish furniture; vacuum or wipe baseboards, staircases, and railings; remove marks from walls.
• Inspect draperies and remove dust and cobwebs.
• Report repairs or dry-cleaning needs; inspect upholstery and lampshades for damage.
• Empty cigarette ashtrays and sweep outdoor porches.
• Inspect light fixtures and replace bulbs as needed.
• Empty recycling bins in all office areas.
• Deliver floral arrangements to visitation rooms.
• Assist families with chairs, tables, and visitation room setup.

Forest Lawn is seeking a full-time Housekeeper with a professional demeanor to support our mission of providing beautiful, clean, safe, and comforting environments for our client families and employees. The Housekeeper will perform a variety of housekeeping and cleaning duties onsite.

What You'll Be Doing

Vacuum assigned areas and spot-clean carpets as needed.

Clean all restrooms, including mopping floors, cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops, and emptying trash. Refill tissue, soap, and paper towel dispensers as needed.

Maintain furniture by dusting and polishing. Vacuum or hand-dust baseboards, staircases, and railings. Remove fingerprints, spots, and other marks from walls.

Inspect draperies and sheers, removing loose dust and cobwebs as needed.

Report repair or dry-cleaning needs. Inspect upholstery, lampshades, and carpeted areas, and report items requiring repair or replacement.

Empty cigarette ashtrays and sweep outdoor porches.

Inspect light fixtures and replace burned-out bulbs or report them for replacement.

Empty recycling bins in all office areas.

Deliver floral arrangements from outside florists to visitation rooms.

Provide exceptional customer service by assisting families with additional chairs, tables, and visitation room setup.

Maintain positive relationships with Forest Lawn employees and foster a teamwork-oriented environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a custodial, cleaning, or housekeeping role, preferably in a hospitality environment.

Valid California driver's license.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be available to work full-time, including weekends and some holidays.

Ability to understand and respect the nature of our business.

High school diploma or GED.
