AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Chicago, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Housekeeper to prepare rooms, clean and restock items. You will help keep areas tidy, respond to guest requests, and maintain safety standards in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a full-service hotel housekeeping role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean stay-over and check-out rooms, change sheets and restock towels and amenities.
• Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms (bathroom, surfaces, floors, furniture).
• Vacuum rooms, empty trash, restock amenities and organize closets.
• Respond to guest requests, follow chemical safety rules and handle hazardous materials properly.
• Report suspicious activities and hazardous conditions to Security; handle lost and found items.
• Maintain high guest relation standards and assist with additional items as needed.

What will you be doing?

• Clean stay-over and check-out rooms, changing sheets and replenishing towels and amenities as needed.


• Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms, including bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, floors, and furniture paying close attention to details.


• Vacuum rooms, empty trash, restock amenities, and organize housekeeping closets.


• Respond quickly to guest requests, follow chemical safety rules, and handle hazardous materials properly.


• Report suspicious activities and hazardous conditions to Security; turn in found items to Lost and Found.


• Maintain high guest relation standards and assist with requests for additional items.

What do you bring to the role?

• Previous experience in the same or a similar position at a full service hotel such as a guest room attendant, cleaner, or other housekeeping roles such as cleaning in hotels, hospitals, casinos or residential are preferred.


• Physical stamina to complete repetitive manual labor tasks.


• Must be able to lift, push, pull and or carry up to 50 lbs.


• Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner.


• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, stretch, and use a vacuum and push a cart on a regular and extended basis.


• High school education or equivalent, basic English communication skills preferred.


• Has reliable transportation to and from work.


• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
