Job description

Westtown School is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to assist in maintaining cleanliness in all campus offices and buildings. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the full-time Housekeeper works 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work necessary for campus events. This is a full-time, year-round, benefits-eligible position.

Westtown School is an independent, co-educational, Quaker pre-K to 12, college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia. Located on a beautiful 600-acre campus, Westtown offers state-of-the-art facilities where our committed faculty and staff inspire and prepare our students to be stewards and leaders of a better world.

• Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum designated areas;
• Trash removal and disposal;
• Cleaning all high-use surfaces in accordance with our current disinfecting and sanitizing protocols;
• Disinfecting bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and countertops, replacing paper products, sweeping and mopping floors;
• May assist with some event setups and/or breakdowns, including tables and chairs;
• Some cleaning of dormitory areas.
• May assist in moving small furniture items, including bed frames, mattresses, and similar items;
• Maintain professional and appropriate relations with students, parents, and staff at all times;
• Adhere to all safety protocols and proper usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment;
• Housekeepers are considered essential personnel and are typically expected to report to work during school closures for inclement weather.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience
• A team player with strong customer service skills
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend over unassisted
• Must have reliable transportation, driver’s license preferred
• Dependable and able to work independently without close supervision
