Job summary

Aegis Sciences Corporation in Nashville, TN seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary facility in a full-time role.

You will operate cleaning equipment, handle waste, and report maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager, while following safety guidelines and Blood-Borne Pathogen standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and prior housekeeping experience is preferred; hours are 6:30am–2:00pm, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday or Sunday rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Must follow OSHA Blood-Borne Pathogen Standard handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, hallways, lobbies, break areas, restrooms, and laboratory areas.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers, and buffers.
• Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners.
• Dust furniture, light fixtures, and window sills.
• Maintain a sanitary facility through washing and replacement of equipment.
• Dispose of trash and other disposable materials as needed.
• Report repairs to Facilities Manager and follow safety guidelines.

The Housekeeper will maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly work environment. He or she may be required to perform tasks which involve exposure to blood and/or other bodily fluids and must follow the required handling procedures in accordance with the OSHA Blood-Borne Pathogen Standard.

Work Schedule:

6:30am - 2pm, Monday - Friday; will rotate one Saturday or Sunday, once per month

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clean offices, hallways, lobbies, break areas, restrooms, and laboratory areas
• Operate various mechanized cleaning equipment including but not limited to: vacuums, polishers, and buffers
• Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaner
• Dust furniture, light fixtures, and window sills, among other items as needed
• Maintain a sanitary facility through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment as necessary
• Dispose of trash, waste, and other disposable materials as needed
• Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, etc.
• Report any needed repairs immediately to the Facilities Manager
• Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services
• Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Follow all safety guidelines and report any safety concerns to supervisor
• Other duties as required and assigned

A Successful Candidate Must Possess:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred

The following demands are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
